Current IAFI Priorities

One purpose of this website is to invite more people to participate in expanding and strengthening the Institute's programs. The following tasks are particularly important to accomplish in the near term:

• To organize local chapters that together will represent and serve the entire region affected by Glacial Lake Missoula and the Ice Age Floods

• To work to see that legislation is introduced and passed in Congress, to designate the National Geologic Trail and enable coordinated, definitive planning to proceed

• To make more efficient use of information and communication technology, to enable the Institute to function more effectively

And, on an on-going basis, it is important to continue emphasizing field trips conducted by expert leaders as the Institute's primary educational and recreational activity for its members, and for the general public.
