Historic Ice Age Floods Research on Google Earth

‘Historical Ice Age Floods Research on Google Earth’ is a Google Earth database depicting over 1,500 map locations that locate and reference entries from the field notebooks of J Harlen Bretz, the published works of both Richard Foster Flint and Joseph Thomas Pardee, and field records of more recent research. Each KMZ database file produces a map with links to individual field notes and the field locations those notes refer to. Thare are also KMZ files that produce published illustrations of the PacificNW Cordilleran continental ice sheet margin and a LIDAR depiction of the Rathdrum Prairie.

Glenn Cruickshank created these geospatial database files as an integral contribution to the late Ice Age Floods story in the Pacific Northwest. They allow users to find the individual field locations and associated field research notes, as a way to more intimately explore the observations and speculations of these adherents and detractors of the groundbreaking Ice Age Floods theories. Mr. Cruickshank has approved the hosting of his Google Earth KML files on the IAFI.org web site in writing and is a member of the IAFI “IAF historical locations on Google Earth” Working Group. The Google Earth data files and copies of Bretz’s field notes can also be freely downloaded free of charge and without restriction at NickZentner.com.

These are the files named “GOOGLE EARTH Bretz Field Sites (yyyy)” and for each corresponding KMZ there will be one (or two) field notes files, named FIELD NOTES… or FIELD BOOK.
